Done in a Day Committee ( 2003-2005)  we hope to bring this committee back in the near future

What is Done-in-a-day (DIAD)?  A DIAD event is a short-term, project where League members assist the community by giving volunteer hours to outside agencies and organizations.  DIAD projects are usually one day projects with several volunteer shift opportunities, the shifts are generally 2-4 hours and can be held on either weekdays or weekends. These events not only help general membership deliver community service , but also offer increased visibility of our organization while providing an immediate and lasting impact on our community. The projects that the DIAD committee offer to our members are a powerful tool for creating long lasting community partnerships. Not to mention, they are a fun way to meet new friends in the League while helping a good cause. Some DIAD proposed events this year include a Womens Build day with Habitat for Humanity, visiting local nursing homes, beach clean-up, working one on one with speical needs adults and children, and helping out other in league committees with a new mission.
DIAD researches, plans and implements one to two activities each month from September through May.  In addition, we are always researching new opportunites within the community. The committee assists in all aspects of planning and executing the events; including communications with, and recruitment of participants from Active, Provisional and Sustaining JLEC members.

The Goal for the JLEC DIAD committee is to provide league member volunteers more opportunities to volunteer within the community. We aim to offer a wide variety of interests and times.

We welcome submission of DIAD projects from outside agencies and organizations. If your agency or organzation needs the help of JLEC volunteers, please fill out the "submit a project idea" online form.
